ARCHway Institute Awards Grant for Addiction Recovery Services

Meet Daniella

Daniella began her journey with Harvest House by entering the Freedom Program in April 2021 when she left Lee County Jail. She was not accepted to other addiction recovery programs because of various medical conditions. With her mother’s help, she applied to Harvest House and found her new home.

For many years, Daniella has suffered from heart issues, epilepsy, and severe digestive illnesses. Since she entered Freedom, she has been hospitalized 6 times. Amazingly, each time she continues to garner the strength and fortitude to stay engaged with her recovery. She does a great job still attending life-enrichment classes and maintaining her employment. Daniella is a mother of 12 children and is currently working on a DCF case plan to regain custody of her 3 youngest. She says they are her biggest motivators.

The ARCHway Institute

The ARCHway Institute for Addictive Diseases and Co-existing Mental Health Disorders assists individuals with recovery from the disease of addiction. They do this by providing both information and financial assistance to help remove barriers on the road to recovery.

In July 2021, ARCHway awarded Harvest House a grant of $500 to help cover Daniella’s fees.

Lynda, Manager of Addiction Services, said, “It was so nice to be able to award such a hardworking mother with a gift that meant so much to her. Even more, it’s heartwarming to see that she finds safety in knowing that she has a community of supporters all around her, for the rest of her journey.”

Lynda describes Daniella as extremely resilient. “It’s easy to see that she really wants better for herself and her children. She has an attitude of gratitude. She is a pleasure to be around and is extremely kindhearted to everyone that encounters her. Fortitude, faith, and resilience… that is Daniella.”

One of the most significant barriers to effective substance abuse recovery is the high financial cost.

Detox programs can range from $1,000 to $1,500. Inpatient rehab can range from $6,000 to $20,000 for a 30-day program, and between $12,000 to $60,000 for a 60- or 90-day program. Outpatient rehab for less intense cases of substance abuse can cost from $5,000 to $10,000 for a 90-day program. These costs typically do not include the use of medication for medically assisted treatment, where medications can average about $4,700 annually. (Addiction Center)

Harvest House will never turn anyone away from joining the program for not having enough financial resources. Administratively, we rely on this funding to keep the programs functioning. Programmatically, we believe in fostering accountability and clients making an investment in their recovery. However, extenuating circumstances can make the program fee just not feasible for some. This is where our donors and organizations like ARCHway provide a wonderful resource.

The Freedom Program

The Harvest House Freedom program’s innovative model allows clients to work intensely on their recovery while staying connected to the world. This connection is solidified through active employment, enrichment classes, and service hours. When real-life happens, clients have a support system to help them work through triggers, reprogram traumatic responses, and diminish the likelihood of relapse for the rest of their life.

Our team identifies the individual flashpoints resonating with each client as they create an individualized pathway to recovery. The standard program plan includes nine months of residential recovery and one month of aftercare. For approximately $200/week, clients receive a residence, utilities, some meals and groceries, a robust selection of enrichment classes, workforce placement assistance, transportation assistance, various types of therapy, and more.
