FAMILY SERVICES

Family Haven

Depending upon need and availability, families can stay in our emergency shelter when a crisis causes them to be literally homeless, or they can stay in our transitional housing program when more time is needed to stabilize and find permanent housing solutions. Both of these temporary housing solutions are completely free to the families. Participants are expected to engage in a stabilization plan, refrain from active substance abuse, abide by community rules, and maintain regular engagement with a case manager. 89% of families that exit the Family Haven remained housed for after one year.

Emergency Shelter

The shelter provides dignified dorm-style units at no cost for families who have no safe place to sleep. Families can stay up to 30 days. After basic needs are met, next steps are taken to find sustainable housing.

Families in need of immediate shelter, please call Suncoast Partnership to End Homelessness (SPEH) to receive an assessment at (941) 203-6454, M-F, 8:30am – 5pm. All shelter stays must begin by way of a referral from SPEH.

Transitional Housing

This option is for families that may need more time to find and secure sustainable permanent solutions after emergency shelter. Housing is offered at no cost for up to 90 days and clients receive robust case management services that continue up to 18 months after they have relocated from our campus.

FAMILY SERVICES

Home Again

Home Again stretches across 3 campuses and serves 108 parents and children on any given night. This longer-term supportive housing solution allows families to access affordable housing coupled with other crucial social services, as the ultimate solution to homelessness. Participants are expected to: refrain from drug and alcohol use, engage full time in education and/or employment, actively work on goals with a case manager, and participate in life-skills classes.

Permanent Supportive Housing

The Home Again program is designed for the most vulnerable families with multiple barriers to sustainability. Housing, case management, and life-enrichment classes and activities are provided as a package for every Home Again family.

Homelessness Can Happen to Anyone

Our goal is to help families that are experiencing homelessness by moving them into stable housing as soon as possible. From the moment they get on campus, we work to establish a Stabilization Plan that guides individuals to sustainable, permanent solutions, no matter their needs.
