National Philanthropy Day (NPD) is a time when people around the world celebrate the caring nature and the giving spirit of their communities. Here in Southwest Florida, the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Southwest Florida Chapter celebrated the employees that do the good work of nonprofits, the boards of directors who guide the missions, the volunteers who give of themselves, the philanthropists who share their financial resources, and the companies and foundations who lend a hand. The annual NPD luncheon was held on November 12, 2019 at Michael’s On East.
Harvest House chose to recognize volunteer and philanthropist Kim Niemann for her consistent dedication to our mission. Kim has been one of the most devoted and compassionate people to work with over the past five years. After recovering from an alcohol addiction, Kim finds that giving back helps her stay sober. She volunteers weekly at the Harvest Food Pantry and takes donations through her business as a personal organizer to give clients high-quality clothing and accessory items, helping to restore dignity. Using her bubbly personality and influential connections, she coordinates meaningful experiences for clients including sober-parties, bra-fittings, and formal dinners. She knows the needs of our community and goes above and beyond to meet them, without anyone ever asking.
Her selfless giving inspires us on a daily basis. We’re lucky to have dedicated supporters like her!

Please note, submitting an application for an NSP Affordable Rental does not guarantee housing. Units do not become available very often, so Harvest House will hold your application for 6 months in case a unit becomes available. The NSP program has strict gross income limits that are determined by HUD. Please see the chart below to ensure that your household meets the income requirements. Questions? Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Submitting an application does not guarantee housing. Our goal is to serve as many families as possible, but due to limitations, we select those with the highest acuity of need first. We hold applications for 6 months in case an opening fits the needs of each applicant over that time period.
Home Again is a housing program that helps families prepare for long-term housing stability. The best fit for the program is families that have many challenges to housing, but are willing to engage with the program to improve their housing situation. Families must be willing to set goals, meet regularly with a case manager, attend life skills classes, and participate in individual housing stability plans.
