Local human services provider Harvest House announces a new partnership with Restore Global, a 501(c)3 that serves other nonprofit partners to reduce operating costs. Through this partnership, substantial discounts are available through companies regularly used, such as Staples, Hertz, Lyft, US Foods, FedEx, and more.
Restore Global has two programs that benefit non-profits of all sizes that provide access to goods and services at a discounted rate, allowing partners to focus staff and resources more on programming.
Using the power of a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), Restore Global assists nonprofits in purchasing supplies at a discount they could not obtain on their own. Office supplies ranging from reams of paper, to toilet paper and batteries are regularly purchased at discounts between 20-80% off the retail price. Restore Global also connects corporations who find themselves with surplus goods and supplies, to nonprofit organizations with matching needs. The cost savings realized in staff time and goods purchased can save nonprofits hundreds of thousands of dollars and shave months off capital fundraising goals and timelines.
“We were first introduced to the good work that Restore Global is doing at the beginning of July through a generous face mask donation. After learning more about Restore Global, we are excited to spread the word and get more Sarasota and Manatee nonprofits to participate,” said Erin Minor, CEO of Harvest House.
“In these unprecedented times, we are reminded of the importance of working together. These discounts on cleaning supplies, PPE such as masks and gloves, and items we regularly purchase, will help stretch private donations as far as possible. Restore Global creates a win-win situation for both non-profits and corporations looking to have community impact,” said Erin Minor, CEO of Harvest House.

The Restore Global idea was launched as a nonprofit organization in 2007 with a very simple vision to help make a difference in lives. Restore Global impacts the community by providing functional services directly to nonprofit organizations. After years of research and testing (and a couple of failed ideas), the initial program, Access to Excess was launched in 2014 during the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. From there, Restore Global continues to grow serving more partner nonprofits and adding services to help multiply impact. For more information, visit restoreglobal.org.
Harvest House, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to the premise that all people deserve safe, stable housing and the opportunity to renew their hope and dream again. As a pioneer in the transitional and permanent housing movement, they are the only organization in Sarasota to participate in the development, preservation, and management of affordable, service-enriched housing. This model is becoming the standard for serving families and individuals who are working to rebuild their lives. They believe that affordable housing and supportive programs improve the economic status of residents, revitalize neighborhoods, and stabilize lives.

Please note, submitting an application for an NSP Affordable Rental does not guarantee housing. Units do not become available very often, so Harvest House will hold your application for 6 months in case a unit becomes available. Submitting an application does not guarantee housing. Our goal is to serve as many families as possible, but due to limitations, we select those with the highest acuity of need first. We hold applications for 6 months in case an opening fits the needs of each applicant over that time period.
Home Again is a housing program that helps families prepare for long-term housing stability. The best fit for the program is families that have many challenges to housing, but are willing to engage with the program to improve their housing situation. Families must be willing to set goals, meet regularly with a case manager, attend life skills classes, and participate in individual housing stability plans.
