Dedicate your birthday
The gift of giving is the greatest gift! Ask your friends and family to donate to your favorite nonprofit in honor of your birthday this year. Create a fundraiser to share your birthday wishes with your friends and family or simply make a contribution. Funds will go to Harvest House’s greatest need or the program of your choosing, including community-building activities with clients such as holiday gatherings, graduation celebrations, baby showers, and of course, birthday parties.

Youth Outings Chaperones
The nine participants in New Heights, our permanent supportive housing program for unaccompanied youth age 18-24, are taken on outings in the community with a Harvest House staff member and a volunteer chaperone. These outings promote camaraderie, appreciation for the arts and culture, and offer exposure to experiences that are often limited to youth with certain privileges. Past experiences include a show at Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, salsa lessons at Fred Astaire, a scavenger hunt at Selby Botanical Gardens, kayaking at Mote Marine, a cooking class at Publix Aprons Cooking School, adventure courses and so much more.
If you’re interested in becoming a chaperone or suggesting or donating an experience, fill out a volunteer application today or contact email@example.com.
We teach life-skills classes every Monday night to our families in the permanent supportive housing program and clients in the Freedom addiction recovery program have classes almost every night. We’re always looking for teachers and/or curriculum that our staff can use. Some ideas of classes include:
- Parenting (child development, bullying, discipline, nutrition, etc.)
- Budgeting and Finance
- Career Advancement
- Conflict Resolution
- Creative Expression – Art Therapy, Music, etc.
- and more!
Collect & Package Welcome Kits
When clients arrive at Harvest House, they’re often coming straight from traumatic or unstable living conditions. We like to welcome them with open arms and with a care package that meets some of their immediate needs including personal care items, fresh linens, and other items that help to restore the dignity they deserve. Examples of items can be found here. If you’re interested in hosting a drive for Harvest House at your business, church, or school, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Landscaping & Gardening
We work hard to make sure that all of our units and buildings to feel like home! This takes a lot of effort, so we’re always open to volunteers that have a passion for keeping spaces beautiful by gardening, landscaping, and even exterior painting. For more information email email@example.com.
