This year on January 26th there were 1,367 individuals who identified themselves as homeless in Sarasota County. 251 of them were children from 126 different families – families like Dawn’s.
A 2013 survey showed there were 350 homeless families with more than 1000 children in Sarasota County.
A self-described “loaves and fishes” ministry, The Harvest strives to “be God’s hands, extended to the community,” said longtime senior pastor Jim Minor
The only thing missing from the White family’s Christmas tree is the Green Bay Packers Cheesehead as the topper.
For far too many veterans here in Sarasota County and across this country, joining the military has proven easier than leaving it.

In partnership with the Lee Wetherington Foundation and the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Harvest House Transitional Centers was recently able to purchase 18 units in the greater Newtown area out of foreclosure.
