BRADENTON, FL, APRIL 20, 2021 – The Manatee Community Foundation Manatee Matches Giving Circle recently voted to award $30,000 to Harvest House, a local supportive housing and residential recovery provider. This grant was matched by generous donors to fund a full-time Case Manager position for clients at the Bradenton Freedom campus for residential addiction recovery.
“Prior to this opportunity, our case manager was splitting time between clients in Manatee County and clients in Sarasota County. Now, time will be dedicated in Manatee County to reduce recidivism through stronger client relationships and building collaborative partnerships with service providers in the area,” said Erin Minor, CEO.
Case Managers at Harvest House spend a significant amount of time with each client – crafting individualized recovery treatment plans, setting and tracking goals related to their recovery, and helping to resolve pending issues such as probation requirements, child support, and family reunification. Case Managers also connect clients to other crucial services such as Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT), mental health services, and career and workforce development.
Over 65% of Freedom clients come directly from incarceration – Harvest House provides released inmates with a supportive community and tools to re-establish their footing in society. The Freedom program employs an innovative homegrown model that directly addresses typical barriers to effective recovery such as cost, lack of insurance, social stigma, inconvenience, and the lack of a comprehensive treatment. The Bradenton Freedom campus is home to 24 beds for men in recovery.
