I AM ENOUGH
“Today is a new day. I am finally free from the suffocating restraints of guilt, shame, grief, and fear.
I stand before you, not as a faceless statistic of addiction, but as a young woman with dreams and realistic goals.
I am aware of where my feet are at this very moment. I am no longer hijacked by my own self will run riot. I am able to be still and ask God what His will for my life is. I still have a free will, so the next right and good choice is ultimately up to me.
I am to live my life with intrepid perseverance. I can do this because I have unyielding faith that God carries me always. I lean on God, I make good choices, and thus good things happen in my life.
Granted, I am also mildly stubborn and must embrace the consequences of my making bad choices. Even then, God is with me.
We’ve all heard the saying, “It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.” While I do appreciate the tragic beauty and depth of the quote, I’d rather say, “It is better to have loved and lived it than to have never loved and lived it at all.”
You see, I am learning that even with heartbreak there is a bountiful opportunity for outstanding growth and wisdom.
In conclusion, failure is no longer an option. I may reflect situationally, for wisdom or to help another, but I won’t look back. My past shall be the fuel to my future, not the fog that blinds me with fear and shame.
If you have drifted off, please, refocus your attention and hear my words…………every day that I awake, every time that I look in the mirror, with each endeavor that I make…………I AM ENOUGH”
