Sarasota County approves funding request

SARASOTA, Fla. — Harvest House is getting a boost in funding from Sarasota County.

County Commissioners voted yesterday to approve a $200,000 funding request.

Harvest House will use the money to renovate 8 of the 18 housing units at a complex on Martin Luther King Junior Way, between Tuttle Avenue and Chester Avenue.

Once the renovation work is completed, it will open as the Family Village.
Families will be able to live in the homes as they transition from emergency shelters to permanent housing.
