Over 65% of clients in the Freedom program come to Harvest House directly from incarceration, and they arrive with very limited resources. Some of the first work they’ll do with their case manager is get copies of important documents that are needed for employment. Clients don’t typically have access to funds until they can secure employment, so we provide welcome kits full of personal items and linens, and other assistance accessing basic needs such as important documents, laundry services, and bus passes. The weekly program fee is $240 for men and $200 for women which includes rent, utilities, food, case-management, addiction recovery, life-skills classes, counseling, and career placement.
Youth Services are offered at no cost to clients. Instead of paying for housing and services, New Heights clients simulate the practice of paying rent by making payments to an escrow account each month. At the end of their lease, they have savings to help ensure their financial stability throughout their next chapter. Your donation could help cover the cost of a youth’s rent, utilities, food, programming, and case management.
Transportation is one of the most common barriers for families who have experienced homelessness. Harvest House provides bus passes for clients during the beginning of the program, but riding the bus can be an additional burden for someone working through countless other challenges. Clients would benefit from Uber or Lyft gift cards, as well as used cars and small SUVs that are in great working condition.

Please note, submitting an application for an NSP Affordable Rental does not guarantee housing. Units do not become available very often, so Harvest House will hold your application for 6 months in case a unit becomes available. The NSP program has strict gross income limits that are determined by HUD. Please see the chart below to ensure that your household meets the income requirements. Questions?
