I wanted to share an uplifting update regarding Sara, the courageous woman whose inspiring story we shared in November’s newsletter. Despite facing significant challenges, Sara has made remarkable progress, a testament to the incredible impact of our community’s support.
At our 2024 “Home Again” Luncheon, Sara shared her powerful story and her gratitude at how she was able to save $4,600 towards a housing opportunity by being in Home Again and its different programs. We told the attendees she still needed $3,400 to achieve her goal. In a fantastic turn of events, the generous individuals at the luncheon donated the remaining amount, ensuring Sara is one step closer to securing stable housing for herself and her son.
In a recent update, Sara shared that she is in the process of interviewing and gathering the information needed as a first time homeowner. Letty, a mentor from the program, assists her wherever she needs to. Sara is also preparing for an important trip to Tennessee in June to visit family. This visit holds special significance as she reunites with her loved ones after a long time.
Additionally, Sara completed her first year of college and has chosen classes for the upcoming semester, starting in August. Her dedication to her education and self-improvement journey is commendable and reflects her determination to create a better future for herself.
